After the portrait session...
What happens next? That depends on where you live.
You live nearby
You'll schedule an appointment for your cinematic premiere approximately one week after your portrait session.
"The cinematic premiere?", she says.
Yes indeed, your portraits are projected on the big screen and you watch the movie of your portrait session! We'll even have popcorn to munch during the premiere. This is the time you get to choose all your favorite portraits and we construct the wall art of your dreams.
The benefit of waiting to see your premiere is during the time between your portrait session and the premiere, I am creating the deeper artwork from your portrait session. Whether you like my fine art painting styled portraits or you like my contemporary editorial style, that's what I'll be creating for you. And sometimes, the final artwork surprises me as much as it will you!
Consequently, you are able to view how the final wall art will be presented and it's easier to make the choices of your favorites.
You traveled a bit for your portrait session
I like to make things easy for my clients, as easy as possible. If you had to drive 2 hours with toddlers or a travel-cautious pet for your portrait session, then you're really not looking forward to driving all the way home and then back again a week later to see your artwork.
Here's how the experience works for long-distance patrons.
After your portrait session, you and your family will go out for lunch, maybe enjoy a leisurely hike in the nearby Catoctin National Park, or learn about Thurmont History at the Creager House. Thurmont has a great array of family-friendly activities to fill your waiting time.
Two or three hours later, you'll return back to the studio for your cinematic premiere. The premiere experience will include the movie of your portrait experience. You'll choose your favorite portraits for your home wall art. Your portrait premiere will have one difference. Only the portraits you select after viewing the premiere will be treated to the full artistic/creative flow.
The portraits in your premiere will have only light edits. In an effort to make your experience as easy and efficient as possible, I have to rely on your trust and creative vision. If you've seen my artwork online or hanging on the wall in someone's home, you may be disappointed that what you just saw in the premiere doesn't look quite the same.
And that's because the concentrated creative process hasn't yet been applied to your selected portraits. You have to trust that I will take the raw materials from your portrait session and create beautiful artwork. You have to see beyond the lightly edited portraits to a fuller piece of art.
I know...that's a lot to ask. It can be hard to stretch your vision from the artwork on your sister-in-law's wall to what you just experienced.
And with that in mind
If you prefer to drive back a week later to see your fully created artwork, I'll be thrilled to see you again!
The preference is yours; the one-day portrait session and premiere or a return trip. I will be happy to accommodate your choice.
